Reading Words

by Kim on February 3, 2010

Max is starting, slowly but surely, to read.  There is no pressure on our parts, he’s just picking it up, mostly by playing on starfall.com. He is able to sound out some words in books, although he still will see the first letter and whatever pictures are on the page and just guess as often as not.  I am seeing some spontaneous reading while out and about though. The other day he saw a sign that said “bake shop” and said “That says ’shop’!”. He also noticed a sign for a street named Kimball yesterday and told me “I read your name! That said ‘Kim’!!”

Exciting stuff.

Little Einstein is busy at work :) . I tell everyone (that will listen) about Max and they just can’t believe he knows so much about so many different things. Actually, it startles me too. Keep up the good work Max (and mom and dad). Love

That is so fun! I love watching little minds learn to read. They get so excited, though probably not as much as me :)
