Stress Can Cause Allergies

by Kim on July 2, 2008

Apparently, stresses in childhood can trigger allergies and asthma. Specific stress chemicals are found in higher concentrations in children who have experienced major negative life events (divorce, moving, death in the family). These are thought to trigger changes in the child’s genes that lead to immune over-responses and inflammatory conditions.
